Restoration Part II

Well, losing a screw was bound to happen... I dropped one on the carpet, and it is now gone... forever.

I will be rooting through all my watch and camera parts to find a replacement; if none is found, I will buy a parts camera off Ebay.

This is the lens for the view finder. I forgot to take a picture of the camera lens, but they are basically the same construction.

I will have to calibrate the lenses, but so far, the picture in the view finder is excellent.



I still have to find suitable paint for the lenses and the rest of the camera, but everything (sans the lost screw) is going pretty well.

Restoration: Part I

The start of restoring an Argus Argoflex, 620/120 camera.

Luna Luna Luna

A New Project

I decided to clean, and restore one of my old TLR cameras' and the Argus was the perfect choice.

After the initial tear down, I came to the conclusion that I will need to pick up a sonic tank to clean the springs, and mechanical bits. After I do that, I will polish, regrease/oil the movements, and then shift focus (get it?) to the aesthetics of the camera. Once everything is cleaned/lubricated/repainted/etc. I will be finding film and shooting with it.

Taken from a few nights/days of shooting around Peoria. Thanks in large part to Kevin England, I have started to get back into shooting pretty much everyday. In hopes of keeping this blog current with regular updates, I will be getting out to shoot a lot more night photos, and with a new lens, the moon.

After Work

Today, after work, I decided to take a few pictures that I have been wanting to get, since starting my new job. As you can see, I wanted a bit of black and white. I think it works with the subjects?

Janesville Machine Co.

A small outing Saturday, down to the old "Janesville Machine Co." building. I am just waiting for Peoria to get (even more stupid) and tear these buildings down to make way for some sort of riverfront "improvement."

No longer a champ

A long overdue visit to the former "Champion Manufacturing" site netted me a few nice shots, but sadly, there were more that could have been, if only the sun did not have to go down. At least I got out to shoot something.
